Zanski - Canines

"Canines" is the newest single by multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Tom Probizanski, better known as Zanski. Based in Toronto, Zanski enjoys experimenting with different sounds and styles, which made me listen to his older works, too, which I dig. While I am on my seventh listen of "Canines," I can hear something familiar and loved: there's a beautiful velvety warmth in Zanski's vocals, in the mellow parts of the song, that reminds me of John Mayer's.

Asked about the track, Zanski says:

“'Canines' is about snapshots of memories—the way things become jumbled when you think back on them too much. There’s a certain hesitation in remembering; it’s like wondering if you’re recalling something correctly, or if it’s just a version of events you’ve convinced yourself of.”
