VIDEO PICKS: Alison Goldfrapp, Fenne Lily, Princess Nostalgia, Roskamala
Alison Goldfrapp – So Hard So Hot
Alison Goldfrapp calls the music video for her latest release, “So Hard So Hot,” a ‘vignette’ and maybe that’s just a more fancy term for ‘visualizer.’ Nevertheless, compared to many other videos out there, this is an extremely well-done clip, which pulls you right in and makes you want to watch it. The song itself, of course, is fantastic too, and the video vignette is created by Alison and Mat Maitland at Big Active. Stay tuned for more to come from Alison Goldfrapp this year.

Fenne Lily – In My Own Time
We recently welcomed Fenne Lily to Brooklyn after she moved from Bristol, England. For the video for “In My Own Time,” she now ventured out to Bar in Queens, around the corner from we live. We are kind of glad that we weren’t there for the shooting, because the story that includes a ventriloquist and two puppets ends in mayhem.

Princess Nostalgia – Astroturfing
For her future pop song “Astroturfing,” singer and producer Princess Nostalgia takes to a farm where she performs an exalted dance with a bunch of very cute pigs.

Roskamala feat. Lia Apa – Loving Mess
Thai singer/songwriter, producer, screenwriter, and actor Roskamala features singer Lia Apa on her new fun yet profound single “Loving Mess.” The track comes with an enthralling music video directed by Roskamala herself. The concept and message behind “Loving Mess” are quite astonishing and, honestly, pretty cool. Roskamala says about “Loving Mess:”
“[The song] was written from acceptance and self-awareness. You are what you think and what if we can surprise ourselves with a new discovery and break the cycles by thinking differently. Seeing our flaws positively. What if we fail 1000 times and 1001st time we succeed? It’s worth failing, isn’t it? Instead of worrying about the future or our issues, the song turns it into a game of love.”
