two blinks, i love you - alright
Listening to "alright," the new single by two blinks, i love you I feel instantly transported to my early days in New York City. It was 2001, and The Strokes made a big splash, and so did LCD Soundsystem and Interpol, and I couldn't get enough of their sound. And that's exactly the vibe that Liam Brown, the musician behind the moniker is going for. Liam is also known as the mastermind of Pizzagirl but decided on a new project name. For his upcoming EP ep 2, out November 22 via Heist or Hit, two blinks, I love you goes for a very specific vibe, and it'll be interesting to hear how the album will sound in its entirety. Liam says about his new single:
“'alright' certainly has the most colourful life out of all the songs on ep 2. It started off as a throwaway song in a semi-secret side project I have that I usually use to offload songs I've written, but I always kept coming back to it, and as my affinity for more direct guitar music was creeping into the project, I thought it would be only fitting for this song to have a better life, and the rest is kind of history really. It's definitely a different sound on the ep but that's why I like it, it's like a different area of the New York sound that I love and wanted to show a little more with this band.”
