Strange Flesh - Chaos Hearts

New York-based synth-pop duo Strange Flesh dropped their debut album, The Hardest Thing to Burn Is the Heart, on Friday, which is an elegant piece of constrained electronic music. We are fans of Varrick Zed (vocals, synths) and Ed Zed's (vocals, synths, drums, various noise) music since their single releases "Very" and "Single / No Return," and enjoyed listening to their brilliant album while sipping a nice drink. I asked Varrick and Ed whether they could tell us a bit more about their record, and here's what they say:

"There are many elements that make up our new album - alienation, paranoia, decay and moral panic - but it also contains one that doesn't factor too often into Strange Flesh's oeuvre, and that is the love song.

Strangely, we’ve never really written a love song to each other before, so this track is particularly special to us. It’s both a gob in the face of time, and a wry celebration of the fact that although neither of us may live to see old age, at least we’ll always have us."

The love song is exactly what we've chosen from the album, as it also comes with unconventional yet very tender and fascinating visuals. Strange Flesh created the video together with Tom Rizzuto and enlisted Arthur Fleischmann as the audio producer.
