SONG PICK: Video Age - Shadow On The Wall
Going with stereotypes makes it hard to believe that Video Age are a contemporary band at home in New Orleans. Their sound is so blissfully nostalgic, with 70s glitter and irresistible groove, that I had pictured them hailing from somewhere as sunny and seemingly carefree as Los Angeles or Malibu. That makes the four-piece comprised of songwriting partners Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli and Nick Corson and Duncan Troast all the more interesting! Video Age have signed with Winspear, following their debut 2016 debut album “Living Alone” and the follow-up “Pop Therapy. “Video Age” is the first new music for 2020 and being on the new New York-based label.
Ray Micarelli says about “Shadow On The Wall:
“A song about facing your fears. Although it can be tempting to give in to what’s plaguing you, funky self expression is one way to rise above the fog and see what’s real.”
In this sense, “Shadow On The Wall” serves as an inspiring mantra, something lovely and promising to enjoy. Listen to “Shadow On The Wall”, our Song Pick of the Day:
