What makes “Happy Today”, the new single by Manchester 4-piece Octopus stand out, is its intelligent build with stunning twists and turns that are especially surprising for young musicians.

Rowan Well‘s skillfully booming bass lines provide “Happy Today” with a welcoming earthiness over which George Hunter‘s gorgeous vocals can soar or hum along and together with fellow guitarist Joe Smethurst and Freddie Hunter on drums, they form this exciting new Britpop band. “Happy Today” will receive some visual treatment soon and when asked about a sneak peak, the quartet provides:

“It’s about things not quite going your way and doing nothing about it… except sliding into some corduroy.”
