SONG PICK: Mountains Like Wax - Yes, I Grew Tired
“Yes, I Grew Tired” of many things but certainly not of the new single by Nashville indie-rock duo Mountains Like Wax. Their newest single provides us with another glorious taste of their upcoming debut album scheduled for February next year. “Yes, I Grew Tired” lies on a bed of glistening guitars but it is Mitchell Taylor‘s emotive vocals that lend the track its hopeful vibe. Asked about the song he says:
I started to write this track solely from the perspective of an individual I imagined journaling while in a relationship with the writer. “Yes, I Grew Tired” recognizes the moment and phenomenon that we all meet far too often: Complacency.
Sam Katz, the other half of the duo, and Mitchell Taylor met in 2015 and have been writing songs together since. “Yes, I Grew Tired” follows the previous single “Boxing Your Ears” and there will be a few more releases before the album drops.
