SONG PICK: LONA - Shangri La
After releasing the superb “She’s With Me” a little over a month ago, London-based alt rock quartet LONA, follow-up with “Shangri La”, an equally stunning new single. The song provokes feelings of unrest and uncertainty yet there is also some almost overwhelming longing and beauty woven within. “Shangri La” is crazy catchy and I have it on heavy rotation. When asked about the their new track, the band provides:
“The idea of Shangri La is loosely inspired by James Hilton’s novel, Lost Horizon. The concept of a paradise of peace and youth. Our song is a modern spin on this, set upon the London Shangri-La hotel. It’s about two lovers desire to go back to place where their love was serene.”
LONA is heading out on a national (U.K.) tour, culminating in London’s O2 Academy 2 in Islington, staking their claim to be among the ones to watch in 2019. We sure have them on our short list now. Listen to the absolutely fantastic “Shangri La”, our Song Pick of the Day:
