SONG PICK: Kid Brunswick - SKINNY
When we first featured British singer/songwriter and producer Harry Gilmour, he released his unique and irresistible brand of electro-grunge rock under the moniker Brunswick. Since then, he published a couple of more singles plus his debut album and is now Kid Brunswick. We think that name suits this crazy talented young musician well.
Kid Brunswick’s newest single “SKINNY” might be his most personal but also most refined work to date. The deliberately monotonous vocal delivery manages to hypnotize and in conjunction with the heavy beat and the dark production to electrify. Harry offers the following insight:
““Skinny” is the oldest song that I’m going to release at the moment, I wrote it when I was 17. The lyric is pretty self explanatory, I was dealing with a lot of eating disorders and drug abuse when I wrote it. I spent most of my teenage years getting high in London, that’s what this song is about.”
We can only hope that these dangerous and scary days are over for the now 20 years old artist, and finds himself surrounded by caring friends and supporters. We are looking forward to hearing much more energizing and utterly amazing music by Kid Brunswick!
