SONG PICK: Juniper Stone - Moonchild
While browsing through the press release for “Moonchild,” I landed on “written during,” and my immediate reaction was “not another written during quarantine song, please!” By now almost everything is written during the pandemic because… it’s going on for a while. However, the press copy emphasizes that Juniper Stone created the beautifully hazy and dreamy song during not only a rainy day but an entire rainy week. Juniper Stone’s Damien Vincent says:
I’ve always enjoyed the rain and the cozy melancholy that seems to come with rainy weather, which was one of the inspirations for ‘Moonchild’. I wanted to capture this within the song and have each of the instruments sound like they’d been soaked in the rain. ‘Moonchild’ essentially refers to the person you become whilst dreaming, when you don’t have to think so much and can just let go.
We love the calming quality of “Moonchild,” the soft vocals, and the soothing saxophone accents. Listen to “Moonchild,” our Song Pick of the Day:
