SONG PICK: Iris Lune - Sewing Skylines to Shores
"Sewing Skylines to Shores" is the new track by Brooklyn-based four-piece Iris Lune around singer and songwriter Ella Joy and guitarist Asher Kurtz. The song fuses folk with electronics and melancholy with joy and features a synth line like a birdsong, that makes you smile, even though the topic is quite heavy: "In the song, which was inspired by the story of Virginia Woolf’s suicide, the person finds his or her way to clarity and peace through parting from this world, but there are many ways to find that freedom," explains Ella.
