SONG PICK: Ellie M - Out Of The Blue
“Out of the Blue”, the new single by English singer/songwriter Ellie M is a big sweeping pop-production one does not hear so often anymore with restrained bedroom pop being ubiquitous these days. The more “Out of the Blue” surprises with Elli M’s powerful yet warm and earthy vocals, lovely guitar strumming, enveloped by a massive orchestral backdrop. The track has quite the Lisa Stansfield meets Tracy Chapman vibe and it is utterly gorgeous!
At home in West London, Ellie Morgan decided to take a year off before starting to study anthropology. During that time, she was bartending at the popular music venue Bush Hall and decided to give music a go herself. Ellie reveals about “Out of the Blue”:
“I wrote the lyrics to this song on the tube after staying the night with someone. It’s about having a lack of control over the other person’s emotions or feelings, wishing you could know what they were and wondering. It’s about unexpected feelings and unknown/unexpected endings”
