SONG PICK: Circe - Ten Girls
London-based musician Circe does dark, chills-inducing pop music and looks to correlate fictional literary work with the times we are living in. For her new single “Ten Girls” she found inspiration in a particularly dark and unsettling story. Circe explains:
Ten Girls was inspired by Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” – ‘There are ten marks on this cross’ – a poetic but disturbing view of women living in a dystopian oppressive world. This chimes with my own fractured generation of cancel culture, swipes of sex, and revenge porn
