SONG PICK: bdrmm - Shame
Do you know what utter heartbreak sounds like? Lend “Shame”, the new single by shoegazers bdrmm your ear and you get an idea. The British five-piece made heartbreak listenable! The brooding sadness gets joined by undeniable melancholy and the sparkles of hope spread by the bright and jangly guitars make only for little dots of glitter in the overall gloomy setup. Add staccato vocals to the mix and ready is a track to be listened to in endless repeats. Songwriter and vocalist Ryan Smith explains:
“’Shame’ is about the heartache of having to tell someone you care about the most that being together can’t work, for whatever reason – having to be the person who takes it upon themselves to do the right thing, even though it feels so wrong.”
