Sam Walwyn - Overtime
Singer/songwriter Sam Walwyn grew up near the Caribbean and the British island Jersey, which makes for colorful influences. He also learned to play flamenco guitar from an Australian maestro. His new single “Overtime” showcases all this beautifully. It is one upbeat, joy-inducing song, despite the more somber lyrics. Asked about the track, Sam says:
“I didn’t feel like I had a voice within the relationship I was in and that I was doing a good job at helping my partner through their issues but not able to open up myself. I felt like I was working overtime to keep myself and the relationship afloat and in amongst all of those fluctuating emotions I wrote this song called ‘Overtime’ explaining the fear of opening up and not feeling like you can reach out for help.”
