Rinjin - Just Us

Rinjin - Just Us

Norwegian electronic duo Rinjin delight with the mesmerizing “Just Us.”  They mentioned drawing inspiration from the Norwegian electronica scene, including artists like Röyksopp, Todd Terje, and Lindström, as well as classics like New Order, Tom Tom Club, and Stereolab. A band that mentions such influences has my attention immediately. What an eclectic mix! It’s the sound I grew up (with the latter) and loved as an adult (the former.) Surprisingly, for us who don’t speak Norwegian, ‘rinjin’ is the Japanese word for ‘neighbor,’ because that’s what the two members of Rinjin are: neighbors and artists, of course.

What Rinjin created here with “Just Us” is an enthralling electronic gem. So much to discover throughout “Just Us,” and Frøy‘s bright and enchanting vocals lead the way. Bravo! We asked the other half of the duo, producer Christopher “Chris Le Pop,” whether he would give us a bit of background to their new single, and he says:

“We wanted to create a dreamy and groovy space where the listener is encouraged to be present in the moment. ‘Just Us’ is about longing; longing for love, longing to dance, longing to forget about your troubles.”
