Planet Opal - Indigo Skies

I loved "Indigo Skies," the new single by experimental electronic duo Planet Opal from the spot. The track opens in the best Krautrock tradition with just some synth beats and lovely vocals that stand in alluring contrast to the soundscape, when edgy sounds and ultimately heavy drum beats set in. Brilliant! This is music that doesn't take you by the hand but grabs you and ensures that you have an immersive, surprising, and still very enjoyable ride. Luckily, "Indigo Skies" doesn't come alone, but there's a B-side too. It is the slightly more mellow but not less synth-driven and fascinating "Montagne a Colori," sung in Italian. Whatever the language, I can't wait to listen to more music by Planet Opal because this is exciting sound that resonates deeply.
Planet Opal is comprised of Giorgio Assi (producer, mix engineer, synth, vocals) and Leonardo De Franceschi (drums and percussions), and the duo is signed to Italian record label Dischi Sotterranei.
