Placebo - Try Better Next Time
With “Try Better Next Time,” Placebo offer the third track from their upcoming eighth studio album Never Let Me Go, out March 25, 2022. It is fascinating to hear, that Brian Molko‘s recognizable and gripping vocals have not lost their allure and with all due respect to Stefan Olsdal, the other half of the duo, the vocals are exactly what make “Try Better Next Time” so breathtakingly beautiful. Lyrically, Placebo tackle our careless treatment of the earth and add some social commentary when Molko sings:
It’s a gas, it’s a party
On this planet of flakes
Somebody take a picture
Before it’s too late
We are long-time fans of the British indie-rockers (check out this feature) and saw them many times live when we ourselves were still living in Europe. More than 20 years have passed but it is utterly exciting to experience Placebo at the height of their game. “Try Better Next Time” is a stunning “classic” Placebo piece. It’s a song that makes you want to chime in and repeat with Molko “Wake up Wake up Try better next time” and almost believe that this might be even possible.
