PHEA - Chronic Broken Heart

A "Chronic Broken Heart" is a familiar trope in pop music, but in the case of PHEA, it is literal. The Berlin- and LA-based singer, songwriter, and producer suffers from a severe heart condition that has influenced her life since she was a child. Now she is preparing for heart surgery, and we wish her all the best for that. On the other hand, the song is a beautiful, shimmering, upbeat piece of synth-pop that she co-produced with Berlin's "Queen of Beats", melbeatz.
PHEA says:
The process behind Chronic Broken Heart was really intuitive and emotional. I had the incredible opportunity to work with my producer and friend Melbeatz. Working together allowed us to merge our distinct styles into something that feels both powerful and delicate. The track is about the fear that your own insecurities might get in the way of something beautiful. I wanted to capture that inner conflict in a way that felt honest and relatable.
She adds:
I hope it makes people feel less alone with those kinds of feelings. It’s okay to feel scared or insecure sometimes but that doesn’t mean you’re not worthy of love. If this song can be a little reminder of that, or just something someone can cry to or feel seen by, then that means a lot to me
