Q&A with Grace Savage
Grace Savage is a multifaceted artist and here at glamglare we fell in love with her as a singer/songwriter when she released “Medusa” earlier this year. Yes, it is “Dreamy Electro Pop” (Apple Music | Spotify | SoundCloud), but she puts an edge to it that makes her music stand out from other tunes under that label.
Check out “King Of The Jungle” to hear what we mean:
Grace plays a few dates in the U.K. right now and we can only hope that eventually she makes it over the Atlantic. In the meantime, check out our Q&A, where she gives some hints where she musically is coming from:
Q: In three words, how would you describe your sound?
A: Dreamy Electro Pop
Q: What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
A: Pop Goes The Weasel (sorry)
Q: Do you have a song from your childhood, one you always enjoy hearing again?
A: Anything from Pinks first album “Take me Home” always takes me right back to me yut.
Q: What was the first album you have ever bought? Digital, vinyl, CD or cassette tape?
A: Cassette Tape – No Doubt “Don’t Speak”
Q: Is there a song you’d like to cover? With your beatboxing talents something from Björk’s Medulla comes to mind…
A: I was messing around with Tweet and Missy Elliots “oops (oh my)” in the studio today…think that might be appearing in the set later this year 😉
Q: What’s your songwriting process like? What comes first, melody or lyrics?
A: I have thousands of pre written lyrics that I draw from in sessions but usually always start with a melody and then add these lyrics on top.
Q: If you could have any musical instrument in the world, which one would it be and why?
A: A massive harp because it would look ridiculous on my tiny flat and no one could play it when we had dinner parties.
Q: If you could choose to live in a decade (music, style, etc.) which one would it be?
A: I’m all about the 90’s!
Thank you, Grace! We would love to be invited to that dinner party.
