Mayflower Madame - A Foretold Ecstasy [Video]
Our fascination with the sound of Norwegian post-punk band Mayflower Madame goes way back – back to the early glamglare days, when we had featured their 2016 debut album Observed In A Dream. With “A Foretold Ecstasy,” Mayflower Madam announces their third album for fall this year, and the track offers an exciting taste of what to expect. I especially like the exquisite balance of darker, psychedelic tones with brighter, optimistic sprinkles wrapped in a shoegaze blanket. Mayflower Madame lead singer and songwriter Trond Fagernes explains that “A Foretold Ecstasy” is about:
“Constantly chasing some elation or intoxicating sensation to relieve one’s inner turmoil, while still being aware that it’s just a passing state followed by an inevitable downfall.”
