Maxïmo Park - Quiz Show Clue
When you were already listening to music, specifically indie-rock in 2005, you must have had A Certain Trigger by Maxïmo Park on your radar. Well, I hit the 'play' button on my CD player as soon as the album had finished and did the same with their follow-up album Our Earthly Pleasures. Then I lost sight of the English alt-rockers, but of course, I never forgot about the band, and their brand new single "Quiz Show Clue" brings all that excitement back. This is a grandiose new song, showcasing lead singer Paul Smith's distinctive vocals, his crazy talent for poignant lyrics, and the band's talent for superb harmonies. Love it!
"Quiz Show Clue" will be part of Maxïmo Park's upcoming eighth full-length studio album, Stream Of Life, scheduled for September 27th. The singles "Your Own Worst Enemy," "Favourite Songs," and "The End Can Be As Good As The Start" have already dropped from that album, and all this gets me super excited about the new record! I haven't felt this about Maxïmo Park's music in years. The now three-piece still has their recognizable style, and Paul Smith says about the new single:
"This song is a tongue-in-cheek take on being left behind or ignored by society, It mirrors my own working-class art-school background, but surely everybody feels like a nobody at some point?!"
