There’s something very special to streets getting closed off for traffic and even more so when this happens during Northside Festival, when a live shows are put on and musicians take over with beautiful sounds instead of honking or motor noises. So, walking up  Bedford Avenue and approaching North 5th street on this simply super gorgeous Sunday afternoon, our mood got additionally elevated by the alluring sounds that Malky put out.

We were instantly drawn in and fascinated by what Daniel Stoyanov, one of the two main artists behind Malky*  and was putting on stage, together with his (touring) band.

“Malky” is the Bulgarian word for “little boy” and was it not for the really infectious music, Daniel Stoyanov would have won every single heart in attendance with his explanation of the band name’s origin. Enjoy here some photos from the live set and follow the band to stay tuned for updates.

(*Malky has been formed by Daniel Stoyanov and Michael Vajna but the latter was sadly not in attendance.)
