Love Me My Alien - Feel I Found a Friend

Sometimes, it’s a band name, and other times, it’s the sentiment in a title that makes me want to check out a band or a song; in the case of Philadelphia-based indie-rock trio Love Me My Alien, it was a bit of both. Turns out their new single “Feel I Found a Friend” is a joyful, feel-good, and super catchy gem of a song.

Lovingly nicknamed “the Brothers” by almost everyone they know, Anthony and Michael Montesano are creative partners in a way that maybe only siblings and lifelong bandmates can be. Together with Justin DiFebbo, they have formed their musical project Love Me My Alien

I was curious and wanted to know firsthand the backstory to “Feel I Found a Friend,” and Michael was so kind to answer (thanks!) He says:

“Sometimes you just know, and I knew. On the day I had met my wife I knew I would never let her go. I wrote the song in about as long as it took to sing it, it was effortless, I wasn’t fighting what I felt. My wife and I found ourselves in Nashville one weekend and as a surprise she booked me a studio session for my birthday. I was caught off guard with nothing prepared. Even though the years had passed my feelings hadn’t changed. It was only fitting at that moment to celebrate the occasion by recording the song I wrote for her.”
