Keep Dancing Inc - GPS
French three-piece Keep Dancing Inc continues to make instantly catchy and simply fabulous synth-pop. Their new single “GPS” is in the tradition of their previous hits like “Could You Stop” or “Start up Nation,” taken from their brilliant debut album Embrace. Granted, it took the Paris-based band a while to release something new but weren’t we all derailed for a year or two? Here it is now, “GPS,” about which KDI frontman Louis says:
“It’s a track I started writing on the piano and it stayed on my computer for ages as a house music demo.It took me quite a while to find the right vocal line and lyrics but the wait was worthwhile.”
Louis explains further:
“The main influence of GPS is the 2-step garage song ‘Let the Beat Hit ‘Em’ by Tru Faith, that’s unfairly unknown though often sampled. We mixed its syncopated drums with the synthpop song I wrote on the piano and we got GPS. Joseph brought the cherry on the cake by adding drum breaks samples that perfectly punctuate the song.”
