Kacey Fifield - Self Sabotage

Kacey Fifield

Pop music is full of breakup songs, but a singer/songwriter rarely takes a balanced approach. In her new song, “Self Sabotage,” young LA artist Kacey Fifield tries to walk for a while in the other person’s shoes to realize that personalities and relationships are complicated. The song uses a guitar-based, unpretentious, but catchy production that lets Kacey’s vocals shine.

She says about the song:

“The idea for the first verse came to me while walking to Office Depot with my friend and talking about her ex. I set out to write a song from his POV and, as I was writing, I realized how relatable the human tendency to self sabotage can be. Some of the lines are a bit sardonic, but overall it touches on accountability and acknowledging that all of us have made mistakes that ended up sabotaging our relationships.”
