ICELAND AIRWAVES PRESENTS: Live from Reykjavik

We LOVE Iceland Airwaves and were crushed when the yearly festival got canceled, like every other music festival this year. Fortunately, though, the makers of Iceland Airwaves put an online version of the event together and bring Live from Reykjavík right into our homes.

From Friday 13 to Saturday 14 of November, we can enjoy an amazing cast of Icelandic musicians. Some of these we are long time fans of and others we just recently discovered. In any case, this is something to look forward to thoroughly enjoy as the music made in Iceland is mesmerizing!

In particular, we are eager to see again the intense indie-rock of Mammút, the elegant electro-pop of Vök, and the dark electro-punk of Kælan Mikla. We also will finally be able to see enchanting singer/songwriter Június Meyvant and charming pop-singer Emiliana Torrini & Friends. We’ll also tune in for Auður and Daði, two artists who amassed lots of new fans with their own version of electronic R&B and joyful pop respectively.

Get in the mood and browse photos and music from previous Iceland Airwaves festivals like 2019 here and 2018 here. Browse our Iceland Airwaves category, and learn more about two must-see bands via our interviews: Q&A with Mammùt and Q&A with Vök.

Of course, we are not the only Iceland Airwaves fans and some fellow Icelandic music enthusiasts create amazing videos, like Meghan from Portland, OR for example. While we have some favorite musicians in common, Meghan also makes a wonderful case for Ásgeir and Bríet two artists, who are part of the Livestream festival.

Check out this joyful video and treat yourself to tickets for Live from Reykjavik to be part of the festival on November 13th and 14th, 2020:
