glamglare’s Top Picks for Iceland Airwaves '16 - Icelandic Acts

glamglare’s Top Picks for Iceland Airwaves '16 - Icelandic Acts

Iceland Airwaves, Iceland’s famous music festival, is about to start next week. From Wednesday, November 2nd to Sunday, November 6th, more than 220 musicians are scheduled to play at official Iceland Airwaves venues (schedule here) and so-called off-venues (schedule here) and more than 9,000 visitors are being expected.

Amazingly, even Iceland’s most popular musician Björk will be back in her old home country and play a special concert during the festival (extra tickets!).

Let’s have a look though at sixteen solo-artists and bands we are especially looking forward to seeing live. There are certainly lots of fantastic discoveries to be made during the festival as well yet these sixteen we would like to make sure to catch. For the most part, they are singing in English and the music ranges from indie rock to electronic and electronic pop.

Give the included tracks a listen and stay tuned for more coverage to come in the next couple of days and then of course directly from Reykjavik, because… glamglare goes Iceland Airwaves! To stay updated, follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
