Emmett Kai - Slow Dancing on Pavement
At glamglare, we came across countless artists, exchanging the East Coast with the warmer and maybe more easy-going West Coast. Rarely do we know of a musician who does it the other way around, but multi-instrumentalist Emmett Kai left his home in California to settle first in Brooklyn, NY, and since 2020 north of NYC, in the Hudson Valley. With his latest single, “Slow Dancing on Pavement,” Emmett Kai should find many more new fans as the track is a little bit menacing, but at the same time pleasantly laid-back and utterly mesmerizing.
The accompanying video is directed by Joey Emmanuel, starring Emmett Kai and designer/model Ceren Suki Yazici, portraying a crime duo with lopsided trust. Emmett says about the video:
“My friend Joey Emmanuel, who produced this film, showed me ‘Let The Corpses Tan’ one day and I fell in love with the art house vibe of crime, character development, and violence. The song was already written and we both agreed this is the perfect song for a video like this.”
