“I was sixteen. I hated my parents. I hated my boyfriend. I hated everything, and the world was unfair. Teen angst, baby,” says Elisa May about the setting of her new single “Black Lines.” Don’t expect an angsty teen pop song, though. The Prague-based singer/songwriter infuses a good dose of jazz club swankiness that puts some emotional distance between her and the story. After all, those experiences are often a part of growing up.
