Dilettante - Life of the Party
Francesca Pidgeon, who makes art-pop as Dilettante, gears up to release her second album, and the newly released title track is yet another gloriously stunning song to be found on Life of the Party, scheduled to drop on January 24. As we mused in today's glamglare newsletter, we are keeping a keen eye on who is going to perform at the various festivals. And while we came across Dilettante through classic PR, we're excited to learn that the English multi-instrumentalist has been announced to play The New Colossus Festival in New York and SXSW in Austin this year. Definitely an emerging artist to have on our and your radar!
Francesca says about her new single "Life of the Party:
"I feel like I’ve been trying to write this song for over a decade - the idea of it is something that I’ve literally been trying to get right in a song since I started writing about 15 years ago. I’ve always felt sort of ill at ease around other people and especially at big social gatherings, I always have this idea of how they’re going to go and they never really live up to that for me because I’m just not great at all that stuff. Obviously it’s a sarcastic chorus, I am certainly not the Life of the Party."
