Chemistry Set - Chemistry

Chemistry Set - Chemistry

With glamglare’s focus on fresh, new music by emerging artists, we only super rarely feature music that’s being re-released. The more I am excited to add “Chemistry” to our Song Pick of the Day features and playlist (eventually) because it is absolutely brilliant! “Chemistry” is the first single that New Jersey synth-pop act Chemistry Set offer, ahead of the re-release of their 80s album. The track is beautifully bubbly and sounds fresh and deliciously 80s – remastered 80s.

Terry Kennedy (lead vocals, keyboards) and Steve Mecca (bass, keyboards, drum programming) formed Chemistry Set in 1981, and Mike Reaves (keyboards, drum programming, percussion) joined them a little later.

Fast forward to 2023, Chemistry Set’s original album, recorded from 1981 to 1987, has been restored and remastered from the original master tapes by multi-Grammy-winning studio engineer Michael Graves. “Chemistry” marks the lead single from Experiments from the Lab, with a re-release date of October 1st, 2023. While I’d like to claim that I’d known the album from back in the 80s already, I’d be lying because I didn’t. However, as a music blogger, I could listen to the album already and am happy to assure you that we synth-pop lovers will be in for a treat! Listen to “Chemistry,” our Song Pick of the Day:
