CAPITALS - Too Much Noise

CAPITALS - Too Much Noise

When a band is compared to other artists, the comparisons are not always obvious. At times it’s about a feeling or the overall vibe, or very specific vocals, lyricism, or production techniques. However, my interest was immediately piqued upon learning that Denmark’s three-piece CAPITALS would be inspired by Bruce Springsteen and The Killers – what an explosive and appealing combination! And indeed, it is imaginable that the Boss or Brandon Flowers would create a song like “Too Much Noise,” which exudes that kind of vibe with its warm guitars, pulsating drumming, and its overall ebb and flow. Yet, of course, “Too Much Noise” is very much the brainchild of the Danish indie-rockers, and here we have it, a beautifully vibrant and gloriously catchy track.

Asked about the song, the band says:

“We are very thrilled to be releasing new music after being silent for two years. ‘Too Much Noise’ shows yet another side of CAPITALS – this time from a more old-school 90’s pop/rock-inspired side. We want to be a band where the listener never will know what they are going to get when we are releasing new music.”

The band offers further:

“We have been doing the recording process differently this time. We started recording at home and in our rehearsal room, just to have some more time to immerse ourselves with the songs and try out adding multiple layers of guitar, keyboards and so on without wasting too much time when we finally got to the studio. The process brought us closer together as a band, just having a good time doing the thing we enjoy the most.”

CAPITALS are Kenneth Nefling (vocals, guitar) and brothers Jakob Woo Slavensky (bass, keys) and Kristján Hyun Slavensky (drums.) Listen to “Too Much Noise,” our Song Pick of the Day:
