Beth Gibbons - Lost Changes [Video]

With “Lost Changes,” Beth Gibbons releases one more single before her solo album Lives Outgrown drops this Friday, May 17. Not only does the gorgeous song and its evocative, cinematic music video strongly resonate with me, but also what Beth has to say about her upcoming album. Pretty much the same age, I can relate to what she’s been going through as a woman in this world, minus all her fame, of course! Bet explains:

“I realized what life was like with no hope. And that was a sadness I’d never felt. Before, I had the ability to change my future, but when you’re up against your body, you can’t make it do something it doesn’t want to do. People started dying. When you’re young, you never know the endings, you don’t know how it’s going to pan out. You think: we’re going to get beyond this. It’s going to get better. Some endings are hard to digest.”

She says further about emerging from that decade of change and realignment, something I feel strongly about too:

“Now I’ve come out of the other end, I just think, you’ve got to be brave.”
