Barbara - Ride the Wave

Leaving her DJ desk for a moment, DJ Babs, respectively Barbara, releases the  gorgeous and ultra-catchy “Ride the Wave” following her debut single “Ghosted.” The lush “Ride the Wave” oozes an infectious sunny, carefree vibe, which I happily enjoy now but will also add to my anti-winter-blues playlist.

When I learned about the backstory of “Ride the Wave,” I got goosebumps, and then a group of butterflies started to dance joyfully inside me. I love a good love story, and this is an especially lovely one.

“If you ask any of my close friends, they know “Ride the Wave” is for Colin (my husband) and they’ll say it’s their favorite on the album. After years of heartache dating in NY I honestly thought that I was broken and destined to be alone. [You tell yourself lots of crazy things when you don’t quite love yourself enough yet to know what kind of gem you deserve (as I’ve learned)].

So with a little push from a girlfriend, I downloaded Bumble and by fate matched with my now husband on the first swipe. For our first date he flew me out to San Francisco from NY; mind you we had never met before and maybe had 1 phone call? So this was very risky and totally could’ve been a catfish. But when I met him he was so kind, honest and serious about finding a life partner (which was really refreshing and exactly what my heart needed).

So this song is all about finding your person, the right love that won’t hurt you or betray you, the love you don’t see coming and finds you when you least expect it, that healthy, whole and honest love that you think can only happen in the movies. It’s a dreamy and romantic little pop bop.”
