Ayleen Valentine - sex symbol

Ayleen Valentine

“sex symbol” is about going all out on pleasing somebody else. There is a dark, obsessive side to the song, but also the hope to turn infatuation into a sustainable, loving relationship. The LA-via-Miami musician Ayleen Valentine adds a moody, serenading violin to the contemporary, loop-based production, which gives the song a classic vibe.

Ayleen explains:

“’sex symbol’" started with a guitar loop I wrote five years ago. I was getting stuck with the song until I started to sing it in a throaty way I’d never done before. I eventually landed on the concept of the song and liked it. The concept of wanting to be somebody’s everything, their sex symbol, their muse, their prayer, their innocence. It became a raunchy but pure love song and it’s something I’ve never heard before."
