AVAWAVES - Sleep Tight

AVAWAVES is the duo of London-based composers Anna Phoebe and Aisling Brouwer, who, together with members of Warpaint, created the soundtrack of the TV series The Buccaneers, among many other projects. Their new album, Heartbeat, out on May 9 via One Little Independent, is a collection of mostly instrumental, cinematic tracks built around Anna's violin playing. Our Song Pick of the Day, "Sleep Tight," adds vocals by Imogen Williams for a reflective song about "saying goodbye to someone you love, reassuring yourself that they will never truly leave you."

“The album is about peeling back all the layers we cloak ourselves in until there is nothing left but the source, and discovering the strength that resides there. We wanted this album to feel raw, honest, and intuitive. There are themes of resilience, determination, grit, and an optimism in forever chasing the dawn after dark. It’s the bursting of bubbles and realising how much lighter everything feels without them.”
