Sometimes, music bloggers get offered a pre-listen to an artist’s album, and immersing myself in Andy Shauf’s new record Norm was an exhilarating experience. Norm, out on February 10th via ANTI-, is a rare beauty from start to finish, and track number three, “Telephone,” is in the same gorgeous mold as the rest of this phenomenal record!

Like the previous two singles, “Wasted on You” and “Catch Your Eye,” “Telephone” is accompanied by a music video animated by Chad VanGaale. It features a character we already got a glimpse of in “Catch Your Eye” and introduces a new one too. “Telephone” goes a step further with its almost desperate longing and enchanting sweetness. This is just so utterly beautiful. Andy Shauf, in his own words:

“I love Chad’s animation style so much. He takes normal things and makes them odd, but also makes odd things seem totally normal. We asked him to take us into the weird world of Norm and a few months later we received an email with a link to this video and it was everything that we hoped for and much more.”
