Alexis de la Rocha - Running Back

Los Angeles-born and bred singer, songwriter, and producer Alexis de la Rocha delights with her new single “Running Back,” an ode to her 90s self. The beautifully vibey track is an open invitation to get your body moving and hum along. As a first-generation Latina, Alexis cut her teeth as the frontwoman of bands like BEATMO and LJ Laboratory (formerly LEX.) It’s refreshing to see Alexis pursuing her solo career, and “Running Back” is a phenomenal start!

But wait a minute…
… after some digging in the glamglare archives, because the band name LEX rang a bell, I found proof for the faint memory that we might have seen Alexis before. Turns out that was during SXSW 2016 when we saw LEX perform at Townsend. How small the -cool- music world is at times!

Asked about her fascinating new song, Alexis says:

“It’s a tribute to my 90s self and an anthem for anyone who’s ever found themselves in a toxic relationship or situation, where they compromise their essence and lose sight of their best selves.”
