SONG PICK: Mat Kearney – Anywhere With You
Nashville-based, Oregon-born singer-songwriter and producer Mat Kearney released the utterly gorgeous “Anywhere With You,” another take from his upcoming album January Flower. The album is scheduled for release May 21st via Tomorrow Music/Virgin. While Kearney is flirting with different production styles, borrowing from genres as he sees fit, “Anywhere With You” follows an unapologetically upbeat and joyful pop pattern. As cliché as it might sound, but this is a song that makes your heart sing and your soul fly, so airy, light, and irresistibly beautiful!
When asked about “Anywhere With You,” Kearney says:
I actually wrote this song pre-quarantine, and never knew how much power it would come to have, or meaning it would take on, until I was stuck at home dreaming that I could travel and experience adventure with people I love. I didn’t realize how much I valued that. Maybe we all have more of an appreciation for being able to travel and experience the places we love than we did before this lockdown.
