SONG PICK: Beau - Dance With Me (Video)
Can we collectively miss New York City? The energy, the possibilities, and the surprises NYC had in store for us? While not born and bred in the city like Heather Goldin and Emma Jenney of indie-pop duo Beau, I think most of us can relate to the joie-de-vivre their new single and video “Dance With Me” exudes. Having felt the first time truly “at home” in NYC in the summer of ’96, and making it my home not even five years later, “Dance With Me” resonates massively with me.
“Dance With Me” is quintessential New York, not only thanks to the alluring visuals but the music itself. If you think The Strokes being very New York, then think of Beau as their female equivalent, as their music is as intoxicating and bold, and their vocal delivery and guitar play just as sexy. For the off-chance, you’re neither a fan of the city nor the band, give “Dance With Me” a chance nonetheless because the song is beautifully light, with a catchy pop-rock feel and a super fun vibe.
We asked Beau about “Dance With Me” and here is what they say:
“To FINALLY release this song feels so uplifting and makes us so happy. We are always so excited to share music with the world and we just hope you guys have some fun listening to it. This song was challenging but also so refreshing to record and represents to us a feeling of freedom and carefree fun. We hope you love it.”
