SONG PICK: Discovery Zone – Blissful Morning Dream Interpretation Melody (Video)

“Blissful Morning Dream Interpretation Melody” is a futuristic audiovisual experience by Berlin-based artist JJ Weihl – formerly part of Fenster – who records music as Discovery Zone. Disguised as an add for a dream sharing app the video shows an eerily happy future while JJ Weihl’s classic electronic sounds carry your mind away. The quirky song name is inspired the past, though as JJ reveals:

The title is a quote from a five hour-long Wagner Opera I saw called “Der Meistersinger von Nürnberg”. Sitting in the Munich Opera house surrounded by strangers and listening to music that was written long before I was born, I had the distinct sensation of experiencing time travel. I had this feeling that I was listening to the inside of Wagner’s mind – of being transported into someone else’s dream.

JJ created the video alone herself – one more great example for the resiliency of art even in complicated times. She will release her debut album “Remote Control” on July 5. We could not be more excited!
