SONG PICK: The Criticals – Just for the Weekend
Based in Nashville, TN indie rock duo The Criticals took some of their influences from a New York five-piece that came to fame in the early 00s. Similar hart hitting drums, lush guitar play, vocals with a lot of swagger… no wonder that I absolutely love “Just for the Weekend”, the latest single by Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart, who together form The Criticals. The track is included in their recently released EP “Mimosa Hygiene”, which holds six equally appealing indie rock songs. I came across “Just for the Weekend” a few days ago, while letting SoundCloud run, took a screenshot to “not forget” and now I find myself listening to the EP on repeat.
