PHOTOS: Negative Gemini live at Elsewhere Rooftop (Northside Festival)
It is hard to think of a better place for a Negative Gemini show than the new rooftop at Bushwick’s mega-venue Elsewhere: her glistening synth pop cries for a summer night before a city skyline backdrop. The wind blew puffs from the fog machine over the stage, giving the show a mysterious atmosphere, like that of a strange and beautiful ritual.
But in the end it was Lindsey French, the woman behind Negative Gemini, who turned the evening into an unforgettable experience. We have seen her a few times before, but – as she told us after the show – she finally broke free of the table that she had used to hold her equipment. That way she could bounce around the full width of the stage, which made it impossible for the audience to stand still.
