SONG PICK: Bad Wave – Night School
On the surface, “Night School” by Los Angeles duo Bad Wave seems to be a straightforward electronic pop-song, not really upbeat but also not melancholic. But there’s so much more to the track than utilizing old synthesizer sounds and adding a ton of new ones. There are these dead-pan vocals that deliver lyrics you don’t easily hear in synth-driven music, it’s more the singer/songwriter contemplative stuff. This all makes for a highly alluring and essentially rather catchy mix. I’m totally hooked on “Night School”, and for once I enjoy hearing a swear word, the one consisting of a ‘b’ and an ‘s’ not the overused one! Not tired of “Night School”, we make it our Song Pick of the Day. Listen to the track now.
