SONG PICK: Destrends – Papa
For those of us who like their indie music darker and grittier yet still sonically beautiful comes “Papa” by Destrends, a three piece from Melbourne, Australia. “Papa” is the first single of their upcoming EP to be released later this year and according to singer/bassist Matt Savage it is about “the time I ruined family Christmas. It’s also about finding your identity and learning when to shut your mouth”. As meaningful as the lyrics, as mesmerizing are the deep and passionate vocals.
