Sometimes you go to a show and you know you see a star. That happened Saturday night at the Knitting Factory, when Donna Missal took the stage with a six-piece backing band in front of a packed room. Supported by family on and off stage and with many fans in the blissfully happy audience, the show turned into a celebration of her talent: not only has she that powerful voice, but she also presents her songs with force and emotion and an energy that borders on hip hop.
On the surface Donna Missal’s music is neo-soul with an undeniable retro feeling, but then she releases a track like “Sick”. Who knows what she is up to next. We can’t wait to find out!
