Tame Impala – Currents

While we’re not the biggest Tame Impala fans on the planet, we grew quite fond of single Let it Happen. The album stays pretty much in the same vein which is departure from Tame Impala’s previous more guitar-driven sound. (Apple Music, Spotify).

Highly Suspect – Mister Asylum

With the careful roll-out of first Lydia and shortly there after Lost (my personal fav), followed by 23 in April, Claudeland in May and Mom in June, the now released album Mister Asylum on 300 Entertainment doesn’t really hold any surprises but in this case it’s a good thing! The Brooklyn via Cape Cod trio Highly Suspect create dark yet likable alt-rock with blues and punk influences. The 10 tracks on Mister Asylum are well crafted, with at times show-stopping guitar work and distinct vocals. Throw some well written lyrics into the mix and you have a pretty cool rock album. (Apple Music, Spotify)

Clairity – Alienation EP

Clairity’s EP is at the edge of Billboard charts ready pop, but she has outstanding voice and some fresh ideas in those four tracks. (Apple Music, Spotify)

MS MR – How Does it Feel

New York duo MS MR’s second album continues where the first one left off: big sounding, electronic-leaning pop tunes. It’s Liz Plapinger’s vocals that makes it sound awesome. (Apple Music)

The Chemical Brothers – Born in the Echoes

There was a time when we would run to the record store to but the new Chemical Brothers, but that was when there were still record stores everywhere. In 2015 their music doesn’t feel so cutting edge anymore and the guest vocal thing is a little tired. But they still do sick beats that leave you breathless. (Apple Music, Spotify)
