Song Pick of the Day: Vulcan – Imaginary People
There’s only two more days at CMJ, but still lots of great music to see and hear. For example Vulkano from Sweden, who play tomorrow at Pianos. Imaginary People is our Song Pick of the Day.

Unfortunately I couldn’t join for the daytime shows, but Elke saw Idgy Dean, Methyl Ethel and Courtesy Tier. More about them later. For me the evening started with Religia, the project of Asha Iwanowicz from Brooklyn. She combines mostly electronic music with great vocals and I’m sure we’ll hear more[…]
Elke and I split forces at the beginning of Wednesday evening: she went to Leftfield to see Foxtrax, an alternative rock three piece who blew her way. I started the day at Arlene’s Grocery for the 24West showcase to see Syvia, also from New York, who play a more electronic[…]

This is glistening electropop from California by Monogem from California. She is playing Rockwood Music Hall tonight for CMJ and I hope I can be there. Our Song Pick of The Day.
In my #3IsABand series, I feature bands whose music excites me and who are comprised of exactly three band members. While some long time favorites don’t play this year’s festival, or some I won’t feature (again), I discovered a few new ones I am very much looking forward to seeing live.[…]
I just love this song by Solvey, the lastet project of Jessica Zambri. She will play CMJ on Friday 9:30 pm at Pianos and I will try hard to be there. Here is her song Wave, our Song Pick of the Day.
Today’s Song Pick of the Day is from Blank Paper, a Brooklyn four piece that does high energy danceable electronic music. They play CMJ Wednesday 9 pm at The Paper Box, a great venue that unfortunately hosts concerts only rarely.
Already an hour late for yesterday’s Song Pick of the Day, I am scanning my list of songs and bands that I collected over the last few months and crosscheck whether they by any chance play CMJ… Bingo! Beach Baby come from London and are scheduled to play four official CMJ shows.[…]
Here’s a another band from Toronto paying NYC a visit for CMJ: the electropop trio For Esmé. They will play Lit Lounge on Tuesday night at 11, but I hope they can line up some more gigs while they are here. “Make some Sound” is our Song Pick of the[…]
