NEW MUSIC: J GRGRY, Greyface, Thievery Corporation, Noveller, Jesca Hoop

Lots of new full-length albums and EPs came out today and we are especially excited about the following new releases:

J GRGRY – Gold Teeth + Glass Eyes

Joe Gregory is J GRGRY, but J GRGRY isn’t Joe Gregory, and that’s probably all there is to know about this Seattle-based artist because the debut album “Gold Teeth + Gold Eyes” got my heart in storm! There’s always a beautiful melody amidst the darkness, the driving beats, the re-assuring vocals, this is an album to be savored now and years to come. Listen to the brooding “Cave Birds” and don’t miss the optimistic touches of this gorgeous single:

Greyface – Greyola

“Greyola” by Los Angeles three-piece Greyface is one of these lo-fi guitar drive albums that just grab you and don’t let go. There’s just something so lovable about the songs, their stories and the overall vibe. I got smitten with the album, totally helpless against its mesmerizing appeal or as Greyface say themselves: “The ‘more is more’ approach to guitars and vocals made for a lot of late night fun. Things don’t always work out well for the characters in the songs, also not a conscious decision. Greyface is the name of the cat that lives behind the 7-11, on Sunset and Rosemont.” Stream “Greyola” on SoundCloud, Spotify and get your copy of the album on iTunes.^Elke

Listen to the lovely “Delilah”:

J Thievery Corporation – The Temple of I & I

Perfect for this time of year is Thievery Corporation‘s new album with Jamaican infused tracks, celebrating their 20th year in the business. Eric Hilton about their album: “The innovation, spirit and power of Jamaican music is a constant source of creative manna for us. On the musical map, Jamaica is an entire continent. Frankly, we could have spent a year there, soaking up the vibes in the air and the strength and resilience resonating from the people. And for us, the only way to connect with this rich source of inspiration was to work in that environment – to feel the pulse of the place.”

Noveller – A Pink Sunset for No One

“A Pink Sunset for No One” is happening somewhere in the world right now and you can channel it with Noveller’s epic guitar-driven soundscapes. (Apple Music | Spotify). ^Oliver

Jesca Hoop – Memories Are Now

Jesca Hoop moved from California to Manchester, England. She also does music that is difficult to classify: her new record “Memories Are Now” is singer/songwriter work that surprises with every track. (Apple Music | Spotify). ^Oliver
